The Challenge

Booking accommodation is a high-stakes decision. Users compare prices, locations, reviews and policies while trying to make quick and confident choices.

This concept explored how a more intuitive and accessible experience could reduce uncertainty and simplify the booking process.

Research & Discovery

The project was based on UX methodology including user research, competitor analysis, heuristic evaluation and accessibility principles.

Special attention was given to:

  • trust and transparency

  • cognitive load

  • mobile-first behaviour

  • decision fatigue

  • information hierarchy

From Research to Design

Insights from the research informed improved navigation patterns, simplified filtering, clearer information architecture and a more focused booking journey.

Rather than adding features, the objective was to remove friction and support confident decision-making.

Mobile-First Thinking

The interface was designed with mobile usage in mind, recognising that many travellers search and book accommodation directly from their phones.

Layouts, interactions and navigation were simplified to support fast and intuitive use.

Accessibility & Inclusive Design

Accessibility considerations influenced typography, colour contrast, interaction patterns and content hierarchy to improve usability for a broader range of users.

Iteration & Testing

Wireframes and interface concepts evolved through continuous evaluation and iterative refinement, ensuring that design decisions remained grounded in usability rather than assumptions.
